[edit] Character synopsis

He is a bean with a southern accent, but is one of the most dangerous and evil forces in the universe. He controls the Ying-Ying Bird, which is his messenger, which he needs since he is locked in the Ying-Yang World. A master manipulator, Hannibal is the one who turned Chase Young to the Heylin Side. Soon after this, Chase Young betrayed him by imprisoning him in the Ying-Yang World. He is set free when Jack Spicer and the Xiaolin Warriors follow the Ying-Yang Bird into the Ying-Yang World. Omi accidentally sets Hannibal free when Hannibal impersonates Jack Spicer using the Moby Morpher. Hannibal seems to be very skilled in fighting, which he demonstrated when he easily defeated the Xiaolin Warriors using the Moby Morpher. He escaped the Ying-Yang World by impersonating Clay Bailey. Hannibal has also used the Moby Morpher to gain an upper hand in many of his fights. He changes size often, most notably during Omi's trip into the future where he discovers an over-sized Hannibal Roy Bean in a cage with a sign reading "Musical Fruit".

Hannibal Roy Bean is one of the main villains of season three. In the episodes "The Return of Master Monk Guan" and "The Dream Stalker", he tried to get Raimundo Pedrosa to break down and join him. This episode showed the suit of armor that he uses occasionally for the second time. It has spikes on it and it is about nine or ten feet tall. When he fights Raimundo in their showdown during "The Dream Stalker" while inside Raimundo's dream, he transforms into a creature exactly like the giant goo zombie in Kimiko's showdown with PandaBubba in season 2 during "The Return of PandaBubba". The only difference is that the creature has Hannibal's face and it is Hannibal's color. Raimundo used his Wudai powers combined with his inner self's Wudai powers to defeat Hannibal, win the showdown, and get Hannibal out of his head.

One of his plots in "Wu Got the Power" involved tricking Omi into absorbing the elemental powers of the four Elemental Shen Gong Wu, each of which allow the user to use a Wudai technique. Hannibal Bean then put Omi into a machine so that he could absorb all of Omi's power. Omi broke out, however, and they were both turned into pure energy. They fought above the machine, and Hannibal Bean was winning until Omi, who still had all four elements at his command, focused on Water. He then retreated, calling it a draw. This makes Omi the second person to fight Hannibal Roy Bean in the series. After that, in "Hannibal's Revenge", Bean spied on Kimiko and learned that Chase Young would grow weak during the Heylin Eclipse, and tried to destroy him during this time, teaming up with Wuya. The Xiaolin Warriors intervened, preventing either side from winning—Kimiko disguised herself as Jack and won their Xiaolin Showdown Trio, during which time the eclipse passed and Chase regained his power. Bean swore to one day destroy him as both parted ways.

When Omi altered history, Hannibal Bean turned Master Monk Guan evil instead of Chase Young. Together with evil Guan and Wuya, Hannibal had succeeded in leaving the Xiaolin Dragons virtually helpless. When alternate Chase was corrupted to the Heylin side, he joined Hannibal and the others in a battle against the Xiaolin Dragons. Despite their cheating tactics, the Xiaolin Dragons were victorious.

Chase Young has noted that Hannibal Bean is "the greatest evil ever known". When asked by Raimundo if that meant "end of the world time", Chase cryptically replied, "No, it is far worse than that".
